- Flash floods following heavy rains since 16 April in Northern, Central and Western regions of Afghanistan have affected 17 provinces. Preliminary information suggests that floods have killed 25 people, while 13 people are missing and four injured. Hundreds of families have been displaced as their homes have been damaged or destroyed. Needs assessments are coordinated by the local authorities and UNOCHA. The Emergency Response Mechanism partners will provide assistance according the needs identified in the affected areas.
- Over the next 24 h moderate to locally heavy rain may affect the northern and central areas of the country, including the ones already affected.
