Recent heavy rains causes floods in number of provinces that results casualties and devastation of properties.
On 17 April 2016, ARCS Emergency Operation Center (EOC) has sent its survey teams to prepare a concise report regarding flood destructions and affected population’s emergency needs.
Consequently, EOC has provided the following reports:
Flood has caused the death of two individuals in Karkh and Pashton Zarghon districts.
Heavy rains increased the chance of floods in KartehSajadiya, Kamp-e-Sakhi, Sherkat-e-Faizabad,Chamtal districts, Char Bolak and Faiz Abad of Balkh province. Thus, the dwellers have left their houses and properties to save their lives.
It is considerable to mention that flood has blocked Kabul-Mazarsharif high way one and Sholgara pass.
In Dar-e-Souf district of Samangan province, flood has killed 3 people and affected 20 families. In the other hand, flood has demolished 40 houses in Dashtak village of Dar-e-Souf district and displaced the residents.
Unfortunately, there is no accurate information regarding destruction and casualties in Dahana district. But, In Doshi District of Baghlan province, flood has destroyed 47 houses.
In Bameyan province, flood has destroyed Khawan, Bam Sara, Somara, Safidak pass villages of Yakawlang district. The floods has devastated 50 per cent of farming land that will cause the lack of food supplies in coming year.
Finally, the current report of casualties and destructions are not finalized.
