NEED ANALYSIS
In Afghanistan according to projections of the caseloads there would be 800,000 people in need of shelter and NFI assistance in 2016.
These caseloads are forecasted from the conflict induced, natural disasters affected and refugees/returnees people in all the provinces.
RESPONSE
Emergency shelter/NFI cluster is targeting 700,000 people that are projected to be affected with different assistance packages, the majority of which is through goods in kind and cash grants where appropriate.
The breakdown of projections is 49% of the affected population would be the female and 51% would be males in the following categories of children (57%), adult (38%) and elderly (5%).
During the first quarter of 2016, 55,405 individuals were assisted with shelter and NFI materials and 41,566 individuals assisted through cash assistance programs.
